This limited collection of unique beanie hats have been hand crafted by skilled artisan Ailish McElroy at her design studio in the beautiful hills of East Clare, Ireland.
Inspired by Irelands beautiful Atlantic coast and her passion for the wild outdoors, each of Ailish’s designs have been created in a range of gloriously colourful shades reflected in the rugged landscape of the Wild Atlantic Way.
About the Designer:
Ailish McElroy is a skilled artisan and self taught Milliner producing bespoke hats and accessories handcrafted in her studio in the beautiful hills of East Clare, Ireland.
Originally from Dublin, Ailish moved to East Clare in 2008 while persuing her former career as a Graphic Designer. Initially drawn to the craft of Millinery as a way of exploring new creative skills and for the rewarding opportunity to work with her hands, this interest soon became her joy and led to the establishment of her own Millinery and fashion accessories business in 2015.
Ailish McElroy seeks to create her pieces using traditional millinery techniques which have been used for centuries as well as embracing modern materials for their creative potential.
Her studio has been described as a sweet shop for adults and is a riot of colour and creativity where she works with her clients to create beautiful headpieces that they are happy and confident to wear.
Ailish takes her inspiration from many sources including history, fine art and the beauty of the Irish landscape in her work. Her unique designs have been celebrated and worn all over the world to special events, weddings in Ireland and abroad, the vibrant Irish racing scene, the Melbourne Cup and Royal Ascot. Her work is regularly showcased at fashion shows across the country.
She has been nominated as Irish Milliner of the Year at the Irish Fashion Innovation Awards and she is a member of the Council of Irish Fashion Designers. Ailish also has a passion for sharing her knowledge of her craft and teaches students traditional millinery and sewing techniques.
