This picture is vivid and colourful with wonderful detail and contrast. A tugboat churning through choppy waters, a McDonalds picnic in the shade of a glorious tree, a field one half cut one half wild. There has been an emergence recently of a new genre of poetry called Eco-Poetry. Perhaps the message in this bottle is to love and respect our Mother Earth. Nathan Hatchett- take a bow!
We loved the colour and detail in this picture. Like a good poem there are two levels in this picture, what is visible above and what lies beneath. There is much to be discovered on the seabed and message of the poem rises to the surface. Super job Chloe Carmichael.
We were immediately drawn in by the vibrancy of this piece. What a fantastic visual representation of how a poem works. The diver is ready to discover, the message is within reach but the diver must work a little to grasp it. The artist has used paint to create layers and depth. Great poems also have layers and depth and make you want to explore again and again. Great work Alex Bottcher.
What we love about this picture in addition to the colour and brilliant details is the viewpoint and the lines. Poets pay great attention to lines – length of lines, line breaks, number of lines. Like good poetry this picture very cleverly takes a view of the outside world and condenses it into a small space. Then it invites us to open it up….and see what happens! Well done Oscar O’Rourke.
The attention to detail here is fantastic. The key dangles, inviting us to unlock the message. Poems are like this. At first glance you might see only the ‘big picture’ but on closer inspection you see a mosaic of small details that feed into making that big picture rich and complete.
