The imaginative pupils of Iniscealtra NS have been working with Mountshannon Arts to create Poetry Postcards for Poetry Day Ireland, Thursday April 28th 2022. These rising artistic stars have been busy drawing and painting. The children are writing their poems and the postcards will be displayed on Poetry Day. This was an early entry and was very eye catching in the colours chosen and the 3D effect. There is a lovely contrast between the coziness of the house with the brightly lit windows and overhead the vast universe full of stars. This is what poets do, retreat inwards to look outwards.........well done Shay Mulgannon!
This card had wonderful detail with the astronaut sitting out on a ledge shining a multi-coloured light into the dark starry night. Poets can be like this balancing on the edge, shining a light and illuminating the way with their words............great job Charlotte Curtin!
This card captured that poetry involves contemplation by oneself. The boy in the picture is sitting in nature with his back to us so we're not sure how he is feeling ...yet. Maybe he will tell us through his words. This picture also features the moon....the moon has always inspired great poems..... lovely work James Bugler!
