“The sculpture a bird makes by picking the stray bits of grass and twigs in order to construct its nest, is not unlike children taking their pencils and crayons in order to cover sheets of paper with improvised curvings, twistings, exclamations and dottings - each in their own way constructions that children can get inside of and safely feel how alive everything is.
