Mountshannon Arts Festival Amateur Phtotography Competition 2024
Theme Fusion
Now in Keane’s window, Mountshannon!
Thank you Coolbawn Cross Photography for your support
Adult winner: Sean McInerney
Jury View: This is a stunning photo, taken in early morning light. The backlighting on the tree allows the rays of sunshine and the branches of the tree to, in places, become almost indistinguishable - the light and the branches are fused together to make a fabulous photograph
Junior winner: Donnacha Hayes
Jury View: Here the entrant took the original meaning of the word fusion and I am guessing went to specifically take the photo of the blacksmith at work. The very earliest form of fusion was where the blacksmith used both heat and pressure to join two pieces of metal. I like the way the person probably researched this and went to the trouble of taking this photo.
